Workshop Cost: $10 per person/ onsite or offsite (see below for offsite info.)
Directions to W&J: Route 79 to Beau Street Exit, Turn left onto Beau Street. Turn left at the light onto S. Wade Ave. (1st light if you came 79S, 2nd light if you came 79S) Turn right onto Wheeling St. Look for Burnett Center, tan building on left. Park in lot behind building or in larger lot beyond.
This workshop will also be available off-site to the first 25 registrants who have a computer and speakers available. High speed internet recommended. Fee $10 per off-site location.

Beverly Harris-Schenz University of Pittsburgh & Zsuzsa Horváth Washington & Jefferson College Die Suche: The Use of Comic Books in Teaching the Holocaust Sunday, April 18, 2010 Recently featured in the New York Times, two comic books, Die Entdeckung and Die Suche were developed to teach German youth about the Holocaust and the Third Reich. This workshop will introduce these texts and explore the use of Die Suche in the German classroom to give American students linguistic and cultural information about this very important historical period. After introductory lectures, participants will work in groups to discuss and develop “standards-based” instructional ideas and activities. A bibliography of related sources will be provided.
